About the Artist

Jenny lives and works in the Yarra Valley, having made a sea change to escape city life and a corporate career.

Her work is about colour, texture, bold shapes and gestures. She works best on a large scale, allowing music and rhythm to inspire and direct. She is constantly seeking new ways of achieving luminosity and light in her work. As a farmer, she is strongly impacted by the landscape and the changes that are happening as a result of drought and global warming.

Major influences on her work include the early Australian Contemporary artists including Fred Williams, Arthur Boyd, John Olsen, Brett Whitley and Albert Tucker. More recently, she has been exploring artists including Hughie O’donoghue, Pep Trujillo, Antoni Tapies and others.
