The Township Group formation followed from the recommendations of the Yarra Glen Values and Vision Project which concluded with its final report in May 2006.
Our key aims are:
- To enhance the well being of the Yarra Glen and District community in accordance with its Values and Vision.
- To represent impartially the interests of the community of Yarra Glen and District.
- To provide concise feedback to relevant decision-making bodies regarding options that affect Yarra Glen and District.
Our objectives are:
- We will be the initial point of contact for local, state and federal government and other relevant bodies in relation to commercial, environmental, social and physical matters affecting the community of Yarra Glen and District.
- We will work actively and collaboratively with these bodies and all Yarra Glen and District community members to achieve outcomes that are consistent with the community’s Values and Vision.
- We will foster closer collaboration and improved communication between community associations, interest groups and businesses within Yarra Glen and District.
- We will develop consultation mechanisms that assist the identification, prioritisation and implementation of options that are consistent with the community’s Values and Vision.
