About the Township Group

The Yarra Glen & District Township Group Inc supported the data collected in the Values and Vision Project, acts as a voice for the community through entering into creative, inclusive and effective partnerships, dialogues and negotiations with the Council, other authorities, organisations and individuals on behalf of the people of Yarra Glen and District.

Issues affecting the 3775 Communities are raised, discussed, debated and then actions initiated if appropriate. Actions may include:

  • Assisting Community Groups to achieve their goals
  • Notification of residents in an area of proposed projects that they may not be aware of
  • Lobbying of council or government departments
  • Communication with Councillors, State & Federal Politicians.
  • Preparation of submissions
  • Media liaison
